The Forge Ring is absolutely magnificent!

We made our way there after breakfast and as we walked in we just stood and stared, there was so much going on, and it was so big. I think it is the biggest single building I have ever been in. The walls were lined with crafts people in separate workshops and the central area was bustling with people building things but it was still very definitely a single building.

Elyr had been in contact with the local Aethri through the Resonance and had arranged to meet them in one of the forge ring refectories and see if they had any useful information.

I started to wander around the workshops at the edge, my hands were itching to make something, but I had to wait to be invited.

As I walked I saw so many fascinating things, some seemed relatively familiar, like developments of the skein tech I was used to. Others, however, were totally beyond anything I had ever seen!

I could have just wandered around there for hours, but when I came to a workshop with a bear motif on the door, I just had to stop and look! The person working in there greeted me warmly and asked if I wanted to have a closer look! Of course I did and it wasn’t long before we were working together as if we had known each other for ages!

I had not met many augmented humans before I met Tomsk, and I couldn’t help but ask what they were for. Apparently they let him feel the repairs, and see more deeply into the resonance to access information as you would with skein bands, but directly into the brain! When I mentioned that is sounded a little like the Aethri communication, he admitted that his Aethri colleague helped him a lot. I said I knew what that was like!

Eventually I asked about the strange building made with the synthetic fibres and he immediately looked wary. I explained that we had just arrived and that I had been travelling for days and seen how the synthetic fibres were causing strange patterns and he said he would tell me what he knew, but not in the Forge Ring where there were so many people with augmented hearing!

We have arranged to meet near the inn tomorrow.
