Vandalism and Sedition

Well that was quite an eventful couple of days! We are all staying at the Aethri token house and I am so grateful to Elyr and the Token Bearers for giving me the protection of the Sodality. Without them I don’t know if I would have been able to convince Vivia Thorne that I wasn’t a vandal, and I definitely wasn’t seditious!

When the Ministerial Watchmen took me from the room, they left me in a room which was not really a cell, it had an armchair and a desk, which I don’t think is usual for a cell, but it was most definitely locked. The worst thing about it was all the skein tech in the room was made from the new synthetic fibres, the resonance felt forced and tethered, and like it wanted to break free which, along with the now familiar prickling sensation made the room a very uncomfortable place. I moved the armchair into the middle away from as much of the tech as I could and tried to reach Elyr, but my words seemed to bounce back. I couldn’t tell if it was my emotions or the synthetic fibres that were blocking the communication.

They left me in there until late in the afternoon when one of the Watchmen came to fetch me, and took me to another room with a narrow bed and thankfully less synthetic Skein tech. When I asked what was happening, I got a mildly unfriendly stare and was told that Vivia Thorne wanted to deal with me herself and was due to arrive back in the morning.

I slept a little and I managed to get through to Elyr a little from there but mainly snatches of words and feelings, they were worried but determined and kept trying to tell me not to worry. Which was not actually as reassuring as I think they thought it was.

In the morning when I did get to see Vivia Thorne they seemed to think I was responsible for acts vandalism on the roads out of Lethran and from Eldran to Aethran and spreading seditious rumours about the Ministry’s standardisation plans.

I tried to explain that all I was doing was fixing broken things, but this seemed to make things worse. She somehow believed I was accusing the ministry of breaking things. When I said that wasn’t what I was doing she just kept asking me why I kept removing the new fibres from where they had been officially installed. I said I didn’t think I had done that, but nothing seemed to help.

Just when I was losing hope of getting my point across there was a huge banging on the door and a very official looking Aethri strode in followed by Elyr and Tomsk. The Aethri official (Token Bearer I learned later) calmly explained that I had been extended the protection of the Aethri Sodality and honorary Aethri status. This apparently meant that I had the right to leave as long as I sought refuge in the Aethri Token House. So that is where we are now. Me, Elyr and Tomsk who seems to feel responsible for all this, even though I have told him he isn’t.

Now all we have to do is work out what all that was about and what to do next!
