We started to see Kethra in the distance almost a whole day before we got to the edge of it! It is far bigger than I expected, much bigger than Eldran!
It had an intriguing look about it, there was evidence of construction even from that far away, but at the same time things didn’t look old.

When we first saw the city, the thing that stood out the most is the Forge Ring, I looked it up with my Skein band because it was so prominent. It is a sort of testing ground crossed with a communal workspace. It has smaller workshops around the perimeter and a big space in the middle for construction or vehicle testing. It looks like it is going to be a very interesting sort of place, I hope I can get some time to investigate the workshops! Not only that of course, it seems like the place I need to go, surely someone there will know how to sort out the Skein problems!
As we got closer to the city we made our way around to enter the side streets rather than the forge ring and the streets had a different feeling to Aethri or Eldran. It felt edgy, like there was a sharpness behind the scenes but also like something was about to take place. It felt like the day before your birthday. And the people had all sorts of interesting skein tech, some worn and some looked more…grown in.

On one of the streets we walked down, there was a much brighter whiter building, the integral skein tech looked very much like the ministry synthetic fibres and the prickling had started before we even knew it was there. It feels so much more itchy and abrasive now I can feel Elyr feeling it too.
I wanted to go and see it immediately but Elyr pulled away from it.
“we need to get somewhere safe” they told me.
“this doesn’t feel safe and the people are shifting away”
When I stopped to think I could see what they meant, we turned away calmly and found our way into an out of the way little garden. I think we are going to have to go back to the edge of the city to find lodgings and plan our next steps more carefully!
