We stayed at Elyr’s home again overnight, and spent another long, pleasant evening talking through what we learned in the Echo Keeper’s chamber. The name Threadwarden interests me, and the concept of threadmapping, it sounds like something I need to find out more about! I think this could help me understand the connections between goose paths and the gold backs, more than that thought, it feels like something I want to know more about. It feels like it could be more than just useful information, although I don’t know why.
Elyr says I don’t have to know why, I just have to know.
I think I understand what they mean.
I also have to know more about the changes that the Ministry of Alignment are making to the resonance hubs, and the centralisation they are planning. I need to know how this is going to affect Bern, and whether the standardisation plans will solve the skein problems or if they will make them worse. I have been had messages from my friend Davin back in Bern and the glitches have not really stabilised. The help I arranged from the Eldran Skein-Wrights office helped for a while but the fixes they made seem unreliable.
I was torn between two directions: I have always wanted to go to Sylvara and I think that the Threadwarden and threadmapping are connected to this. But I think my best hope of answers for Bern’s immediate problems lie in Kethra with their experimental technology and new ideas they are bound to be able to help me!
Our conversation got quite in depth! there are pros and cons to both paths, but in the end we decided to head to Kethra. Elyr admitted that they had been asked by the Sodality if they could find out more about the synthetic fibres and the planned standardisation.
They only told me this after I decided what I needed to do, but I am not too annoyed as it means they are coming along on my journey!
